So by now you probably already know that my name is Chantal. Good.
I am just a broke college student in Florida who LOVES to read. This blog is actually an assignment for one of my classes, which is great because I’ve always wanted to start a book review blog. And now I am!!! So we’ll see how it goes.
This is me.
I live with my family in a small town on the east coast. It’s pretty boring, but also pretty nice. There is a river and plenty of beaches, so I can’t really complain.
I have a puppy. His name is Jacob. He is my pride and joy!
This is Jacob. Adorable, right?!
I love him, even though he sheds like crazy and thinks he is a lap dog, when clearly, he is not.
I love bread (especially pillsbury crescent rolls) and Hershey’s Chocolate bars. You can win my heart with a chocolate milkshake.
I have a terrible diet, but that’s ok! My college plan is to graduate with my AA degree and then transfer on to the University of Florida
Woo Gators!
Or to the Florida State University
I know it is a complete contradiction, but I like it!
My ultimate goal is to become a television news anchor/reporter. So keep your eyes peeled. I just may be your morning wake up call in a few years. =]
So, reading is my obsession and I want to share it with the world. My favorite genre is YA/Teen Fiction, but I will be broadening my outlook for this blog. So check back frequently and drop a comment anytime. I love meeting new people.
I’m sure CNN would love to have another pretty anchor to their lineup. Talk to you soon.
Have a great day!
I am an avid reader so I look forward to following your progress. My son is a journalist and editor/author maybe you’ll work together someday.
Good luck to you.
How perfect. My comment (before reading your goal) was that you look just like an anchor on a news show! You got it girl!
Hi Chantal, you look “Mahvelous” dear, keep working out i wish you all the best and remember that when people are looking to hire you they look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence and energy. But if you don’t have the first, the other two will kill you.
Thanks you guys!
I REALLY appreciate all of the support. =]
You’re the best.
❤ Chantal
I agree Sonja, I thought to myself, she looks like she should be on TV, or perhaps already has her own show. My son’s dream is also to be in TV, Radio. Thanks again Chantal, you have a great blog.
Hi Chantal,
Nice to meet you via the internet. I play great tennis with your mom. My son is a reporter with WKMG in Orlando. His
name is JR Stone, they are with CBS. You can watch him
on Click Orlando.com via live TV. His shift is from 5-7AM. I
get to enjoy him at home as we have the Orlando six news.
He works with interns, enjoys it and I’m sure he would love to here from you. Lots of stories to share. Good luck and keep working. Pam
Great blog beginnings, Chantal. (Thank you, Sonja Bandolik, for the recommend 🙂 I have “RSS-ed” you, and will be following your pursuits from Orlando. My daughter is also a “Nole” — having arrived FSU from the community college highway…to name one of a few she traveled LOL. It worked! Keep reporting; keep connecting. We’re watching. ~Molly Swoboda

Hi CJ,
I am an old friend of your mom’s (we graduated from VBHS together) and wanted to say what a great young lady you are.
I’m happy to see that you’re hooked on reading, especially these days, when so many people can’t be bothered with books.
I just read your book reviews and enjoyed them very much. I’ll be paying a visit to my local bookstore very soon
to check them out.
Keep up the good work and best of luck — you are off
to a great start!!
All the best to you,
Ann

(a)rithmatic!! I am showing my age with that comment!
I hope you get a good grade on this assignment. Happy Schooling.
Thank you Lynn. =]
Chantal:
Best of luck with your assignment. It was so nice to have finally met you at the case study at the Jungle Club. LOL. It appears that your intelligence matches your beauty so keep up the studying, reading and I am sure great endeavors are ahead of you.
Best always, Susan
Hey Chantel!
I was recently looking through my own set of projects and came up with another feature that you could add to your blog! There are individual groups like Inkpop.com Harper Teen Books, and the Writers Mafia that are all about indepedent writers…teen writers! Groups like Harper Teen Books and Inkpop.coom are websites that are devoted to creating challanges and publishing teen/adult writers that enter. Every year Harper Teen Books publishes the Top 10 stories that are submitted. Inkpop.com is a baranch off of HTB butr instead of just a bunch of submissions it is an open forum as well that people may post their writings, give feedback, pick indivual projects, etc. and above all they their own community.
A group like Writers Mafia is an individual group that is dedicated to working with one or two writers at a time and promoting them through their website. I know a little bit less about this one but it seemed just as interesting. I thought that maybe you could use these two things for
A) finding more books that you like to read
B) to finding the ability to advertise these things on your blog
C) it would be a lot easier to find a small group to work with that maybe you could always get the inside scoop rather than to wait for someone to discover your blog
Hope it helps ( and I wasn’t sure where to send an email so I had to leave a comment)
-Benjo
Hey Benji!
Thanks for the information. I had no idea that there was stuff like that out there. I will definitely have to do some research on that.
My email is rockerchi379@aol.com.
Thanks again. =]
